The UK’s drone flying code has been updated, so make sure you know your dos and don’ts

It’s time for drone owners everywhere to brush up on the facts.

The UK’s drone code has been updated, which means a whole new set of regulations have come into force in the UK to help drone-users fly the gadgets safely.

The changes came as the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said it wanted to raise awareness among people who may get a drone as a gift in the run up to the holidays, especially after conducting research that showed only 39% of drone owners know about the safe-flying regulations (via BBC).

And it’s a timely update too, as in October there were four near-misses between drones and civil aircraft reported in the UK, and 56 so far in 2016. Yikes.
