RAF aircraft involved in near miss with commercial drone

RAF commanders have voiced concerns about the use of commercial drones after one of its military aircraft was involved in a near miss near RAF Cranwell.

A King Air pilot spotted a 2×2 white drone in the vicinity of Bicker wind farm while they were out performing traffic service on Tuesday, June 28.

The remote-controlled device was seen at 1,500 feet near the flight path, despite legally being restricted to just 400 feet.
