Parrot Bebop drone lands in December for $499

The company’s new smartphone-controlled quadcopter, first announced in May, is finally flying into stores.

If you’re dying for a more affordable — but still quite capable — drone for aerial video and photos to fly indoors and outside, it looks like that wait is coming to an end.

Following its announcement of the Bebop drone back in May, Parrot today has said the copter will be available in December starting at $499 at Best Buy and Apple stores and online. Availability for the UK and Australia won’t be until the beginning of 2015 and pricing not announced, but the US price converts to around £320 and AU$570, although expect final prices to vary.
