A drone of their own: North Korea used stolen American technology to create unmanned aerial vehicle

North Korea drone.JPGThe Pentagon said North Korea has used a stolen U.S. target drone to create its own indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle capable of attacking ground targets.

The information, revealed by the Department of Defense in areport to Congress and first reported on by theWashington Free Beacon, includes images of the drone in flight during a March 2013 military drill.

The drone appears to be a North Korean copy of the Raytheon-made MQM-107 Streaker target drone, the Pentagon said. The North Korean press said the UAV had the capability to make a precision strike by crashing into the target.
