Leica Geosystems will be showcasing a new generation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) at the upcoming AIMEX exhibition this year.
The new Aibotix Aibot X6 and SwissDrones Dragon 35 UAVs are uniquely crafted to cater to a wide spectrum of applications, providing various safety and productivity benefits for both mining and non-mining scopes of work.
Featuring advanced multi-sensor, intelligent guidance systems, the Aibot X6 hexacopter is one of safest and easiest to operate among commercial UAVs currently on the market. Leica Geosystems and their partners have been awarded worldwide distribution rights for the Aibot X6 UAV by its maker, Aibotix GmbH.
The Leica SwissDrones dual-rotor UAV will also be launched on the AIMEX platform. Known as the SwissDrones Dragon 35, this streamlined synchropter, when introduced at the MINExpo 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada, caused a buzz in the mining market by setting an entirely new standard for UAV technology. The Dragon 35 boasts superior payload capacity and flying time endurance whilst tightly integrating Leica Geosystems’ multispectral metric camera and imaging technologies. Leica Geosystems has been granted the licence for worldwide distribution of the Dragon 35.
